In a nail biter Friday night the Clippers edge out the Storm Chasers 5-4 in 10 innings. Jordan Stephens (1-0) earned the win in relief after three shutout innings. Nick Pratto hit a solo homer in the top of the 1st inning to put Omaha ahead, but Nolan Jones answered with hit a two-run homer of his own in the bottom of the 1st to put the Clippers up 2-1.
Columbus held the lead at 3-1 through 7 innings before Nick Dini led off the 8th with a homer. Two batters later, Witt hit a two-run homer to left. Bobby Witt Jr. homered in the 8th inning to give Omaha a lead, but Jones answered back again with a 2 out RBI single to tie the game at 4-4 and force extra innings. After Omaha stranded two runners on base in the top of the 10th, Columbus won it on an infield single RBI by Gabriel Arias. Arias' single RBI secured the Clippers defeat over the visiting Omaha 5-4.
The Storm Chasers scored all four runs on three home runs. This increases the season total number of home runs allowed by the Columbus Clippers to 123. Clippers Catcher Wilson Ramos will report to Cleveland after Roberto Perez has been placed on the injured list. Ramos was hitting .317 (19-for-60) with 3 homeruns and nine RBI in 16 games with the Clippers.
